I was bored and too lazy to do work so I made a PHP script that counts the number of occurences of "gloomy", "end-of-the-world-ish" words in Google News:

Another thing you can do is feed it your own URL, for example: http://zaim.frens.net/gloom/?url=http://www.petalingstreet.org will count the gloominess of PPS.
Also, check out the gloomy words list. Tell me if you like to add other words to the list.
